Commercial HVAC · Athens & Clarke County

Old systems, renewed on a plan.

Brighton renews aging heating and cooling in Athens offices, churches, schools and apartment buildings — in phases you can budget, instead of one emergency at a time. Homes too.

  2. ControlsThermostats, schedules, economizers: year 1 second quarter to year 1 fourth quarter
  3. Replace — wave 1The two worst units: year 1 fourth quarter to year 2 first quarter
  4. MaintainSpring and fall service, throughout: year 1 first quarter to year 3 fourth quarter

Illustrative — every building's roadmap is its own.

What renewal means

Four phases, in a sensible order.

  1. Assess

Walk the building, list every unit with its age and condition, and find what's unsafe.

  2. Stabilise

Fix the safety issues and the units failing now, so nothing else is urgent.

  3. Controls

Thermostats, schedules and economizers set right — so new equipment runs properly.

  4. Replace in waves

The worst units first, spread across budget years and shoulder seasons.

Facilities

Athens buildings that have seen a few decades.

Brick downtown blocks, churches with big sanctuaries, schools, and apartment complexes built for students — many running on equipment that's been patched for years.

  • Offices and downtown commercial buildings.
  • Churches and community buildings.
  • Schools and training spaces.
  • Apartment buildings with a condenser per unit.

Why phases

Emergencies are the most expensive way to replace anything.

A unit that fails in August gets replaced with whatever is available, at overtime rates, before anyone has thought about controls or ductwork. A unit replaced in April, in a planned wave, gets the right equipment and the right install.

Homes

Older houses deserve a plan too.

In-town houses in Five Points and Normaltown, ranches out towards Watkinsville — plenty of them on systems that have been repaired more times than anyone remembers. We repair, maintain and replace heat pumps, air conditioners and furnaces, and we'll tell you honestly when it's time.

Questions

What building owners ask.

What is facility renewal?

Replacing and upgrading a building's aging heating and cooling in planned phases over several years, instead of one unit at a time as each fails. It starts with a walk-through and a list of every unit, then stabilises the worst, fixes the controls, and schedules replacements in waves.

Why not replace everything at once?

Sometimes that is right, but most buildings do better spreading replacements over several budget years, in the order that risk and condition suggest, with controls fixed first so the new equipment runs properly.

Can work be done around services, classes or tenants?

Yes. Replacements are scheduled in the spring and fall shoulder seasons where possible, and around worship services, school terms and tenant hours.

Do you work on homes?

Yes. Commercial work leads, but we repair, maintain and replace heat pumps, air conditioners and furnaces in houses across Athens and Oconee County.

Is this the same company as other businesses called Brighton?

No. Brighton HVAC Facility Renewal is an independent heating and cooling contractor based in Athens, Georgia, not connected with any other business of a similar name.
